The CMA CGM Foundation has transported 1,000 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Lebanon, utilizing the logistics resources of the CMA CGM Group. This week, 65 containers of humanitarian aid from the World Food Programme were shipped from Mersin, Turkey, to the Port of Beirut aboard the CMA CGM TOKYO vessel. The food rations, totaling 1,000 tonnes, are intended for populations affected by food insecurity and will be distributed to displaced and affected communities across the country. The CMA CGM Foundation is mobilizing the CMA CGM Group’s logistics resources and expertise to deliver this assistance, ensuring the vital food aid reaches those most in need throughout the country.

Extensive Aid Operations Detailed

These essential food rations contribute to ongoing efforts to address the urgent food needs of more than one million displaced people in Lebanon. Beyond these shipments, the CMA CGM Foundation mobilized a CMA CGM AIR CARGO aircraft. The plane transported 60 tonnes of French humanitarian aid to the country, demonstrating the Foundation's versatile approach to aid delivery.

The Foundation also facilitated the maritime transport of 800 tonnes of Egyptian humanitarian assistance, further expanding its reach and impact. Partnering with the World Food Programme (WFP), the CMA CGM Foundation further facilitated the shipment of 600 tonnes of emergency aid pre-positioned by the European Union. This collaboration shows the Foundation's commitment to working with international bodies to maximize humanitarian efforts. Additionally, the CMA CGM Foundation supported L’Œuvre d’Orient for the transportation of the Foundation’s first humanitarian aid convoy. This convoy reached Debel, located in Southern Lebanon, providing direct support to communities in critical areas.

Broader Humanitarian Impact

Since the onset of the Middle East crisis, the CMA CGM Foundation has facilitated the transport of several thousand tonnes of humanitarian aid to Lebanon. This assistance has been delivered by both sea and air, through partnerships with institutional stakeholders and international non-governmental organizations. The Foundation's broader efforts in Lebanon have included extensive food distribution initiatives, addressing immediate nutritional needs across various communities.

More than 4 million meals have been distributed across Lebanon since 2020 through partnerships with local NGOs and community kitchens. This total includes over 700,000 meals provided in 2025 alone, noting the sustained and significant scale of their food security programs. Additionally, the Foundation's "Containers of Hope" program has significantly contributed to aid logistics by enabling the maritime transport of over 850 containers of humanitarian aid since its inception in 2020. This program provides a key logistical backbone for numerous aid organizations, ensuring that essential supplies can be moved efficiently and effectively to where they are most needed. The Foundation's full approach combines rapid response with long-term support to mitigate the impact of ongoing crises on vulnerable populations.

Long-Term Commitments and Healthcare

The CMA CGM Foundation deployed a PharmaBox, a container converted into a mobile pharmacy, providing access to essential healthcare services. This innovative initiative has reached 97,000 people, offering key medical support in areas with limited access to conventional healthcare facilities. In 2026, the Foundation renewed its support for the Lebanese Red Cross, contributing to the operation of blood transfusion centers, which are vital for emergency medical care. Its assistance also covered fuel costs for ambulances, further bolstering the organization's critical emergency services in the country and ensuring that life-saving transportation can continue unimpeded. These long-term commitments reflect the Foundation's dedication not only to immediate relief but also to strengthening the healthcare infrastructure and emergency response capabilities in Lebanon.
